Arlington Achieves the Improbable

Making Play Accessible to All

Play is where confidence begins. It's where friendships form, creativity grows, and young people begin to imagine who they might become.

Our Mission

But access to play is not guaranteed. Across communities, too many kids lack safe, inspiring spaces where they can simply show up, grab a ball, and play freely.

The Arlington Boys & Girls Club Court Initiative exists to change that.

By investing in accessible play spaces, creative programming, and community storytelling, this project aims to create more than a court — it creates opportunity.

Because when kids have a place to play, they gain something far bigger than a game. They gain belief in what's possible.

Mission
To create a futsal and basketball court that reflects the town and club's athletic legacy and serves all youth and members.

Vision
A safe, inclusive space where the Boys & Girls Club's next generation can play, grow, and thrive — day or night.

Completion Goal
The project will be complete by May 2026, aligning with the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup being hosted in the US.

Investing in Access and Opportunity

The Arlington Boys & Girls Club Court Initiative is led and funded through the Pat Connaughton Foundation and the Miles of Change Foundation, two organizations committed to expanding opportunity for young people through sport, education, and community investment.

Both foundations focus on creating initiatives that give youth the spaces, resources, and inspiration they need to pursue their goals — whether on the court, on the field, or in their communities.

Through projects like this, Pat Connaughton and Miles Robinson aim to create tangible places where kids can play freely, connect with one another, and build confidence through sport.

The collaboration between their foundations reflects a shared belief that athletes can use their platforms to create lasting community impact.

While many athletes pursue charitable initiatives individually, Pat and Miles came together on this project with the hope that it can serve as an example of what is possible when athletes collaborate around a shared purpose.

By investing in spaces like the Arlington Boys & Girls Club court, their foundations support something simple but powerful:

Access to play.

Because when kids have access to a place to play, they gain the freedom to imagine who they might become.

Beyond the Court

But the impact extends far beyond the court.

Throughout the campaign, local talent is woven across art, fashion, cinematography, and design, with sport acting as the intersection point that connects them all — showing how access to play doesn't just build athletes.

It builds creators, storytellers, and community.

The Inspiration

Basketball has long been one of the most accessible urban sports in the United States. All it takes is a hoop, a ball, and a place to play.

This project aims to bring that same accessibility to soccer through futsal, creating a space where youth can play freely without needing organized leagues, expensive equipment, or structured programming.

Make soccer as accessible as basketball.

Because when kids have access to a place to play, the game belongs to everyone.

How the Story Comes to Life

The initiative is brought to life through three key storytelling touchpoints:
